Let me say for the past two months I have started a calming morning ritual. My workplace and mental space occupied way to much of my energy. I found myself not looking forward to getting out of my bed. I started playing morning meditation radio on Pandora. Very yoga and zen like with lots of nature sounds. I like . Then I stepped it up a notch I began burning a scented candle. I just purchased a new from Yankee Candle I believe it is titled mountain lodge?.
I also add a few drops of lavender and gardenia essential oils to my steaming shower. It is a way to start my day off calm and relaxed.
So dear reader and fellow bloggers share with me your rituals.
Since having a baby my mornings aren’t always mine but there are two little things I try to do every AM to get off to a peaceful start: don’t check my phone for the first 15 minutes and after leaving bed make a cup of tea or coffee.

I completely understand how having an infant takes an incredible amount of time. I’m now on the other end of the spectrum as an empty nester. Each little kindness we set forward for ourselves is a wonderful thing. Enjoy that little every second you can they really do grow up to fast!

I’d like to echo Devin’s thoughts here on checking the phone. It used to be the first thing I did, often while still laying in bed. So technically it’s a ritual that I used to do, and learned to stop doing.
Once I realized that whatever it is could wait until I was fully awake and caffeinated, my mornings became so much more peaceful and centered. I will typically walk/feed the dog and then have my coffee before picking up the phone or checking any emails. Shockingly, the world hasn’t come to an end without me first thing in the morning.

I love my calming early mornings. I started my calm mornings years ago, after I had children. I would get up extra early before the kids would wake-up, to be able to have calm before I had to jump into actions…Years later, I’m still in my peaceful morning routine! I set my intentions and no matter what happens for the rest of my day, I at least had my early morning calm!

I get up at 5am and go to the gym for an hour. Yay mornings! Except not, I do it because I hate working out after work (no motivation).
